Dr. Julien Guh grew up in Centreville, VA and has always been fascinated with medical science and the healthcare industry. He has always been a visual learner and loves to work with his hands. Dr. Guh found a passion for the dentistry because it allows him to exhibit his skills in the perfect blend of science, engineering, and art.
He attended the University of Virginia, where he earned his undergraduate degree in Biology with a minor in Drama. He spent most of his time as a Wahoo with a student-run theatre organization called First Year Players. After graduation, he spent two years working, first in a cancer research lab at UVA and then as a dental assistant in a Pediatric dental office in Charlottesville.
Dr. Guh received his dental degree from VCU School of Dentistry in 2020. While in dental school, his favorite memories are from traveling on service trips to provide dental care in areas of need. These trips included externships to free or low income dental clinics in underserved areas of Southwest Virginia. He has also volunteered with Virginia’s Missions of Mercy and the Psi Omega honor fraternity’s service trip to Trelawny, Jamaica.
After dental school, Dr. Guh continued his dental education to pursue training in more advanced and specialized procedures. He was accepted to a 2-year General Practice Residency at the VA Medical Center in Richmond. During residency, he was humbled to give back to America’s veterans and help develop his skills to provide more comprehensive care for his patients. His areas of interest and expertise include complex restorative procedures, dental surgery, dental implants, and sedation dentistry. Dr. Guh is an active member of the American Dental Association and Virginia Dental Association. He strives to stay up-to-date with changes in dentistry through continuing education courses every year. He loves being able to help and connect with the patients in his community.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Guh enjoys spending his time with his wife and his dog. He and his wife love to hunt for the best food in Richmond from restaurants, the festivals, food trucks, or at home! They enjoy supporting local farmer’s markets and cooking new and delicious recipes. They are still avid theatregoers and are season ticket holders for the Altria Theatre’s Broadway in Richmond series. Dr. Guh loves games of all variety and enjoys good healthy competition whether it be sports, board games, video games, or trivia.
