Why a Pediatric Dentist?
A pediatric dentist is a dentist who specializes in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of dental disease in children and those with special healthcare needs.
Our pediatric dentists are equipped to address your child’s dental development, dental decay, prevention, habits, and trauma, while offering more advanced skills in behavior management, sedation and surgery.
Baby Teeth Matter
Baby teeth are essential to the overall health and well-being of your child. A healthy mouth allows your child to eat and grow properly, get the rest they need to concentrate and succeed in school and interact with other children without embarrassment. Dental decay can lead to pain, infection, and swelling, which can also impact the development of adult teeth and have potential orthodontic consequences.
Preparing your child for their appointment
Talking to your child about their upcoming dental appointment will help prepare them for their visit. If this is their first visit, let them know what may be happening at the appointment: brushing, counting teeth, picture taking (x-rays). Try to avoid words like ‘drill, needles, teeth pulling, blood.
Our dentists are experts with kids. They will make sure your child is right at ease.
