Dr. Brandon Wong was born and raised locally in Hanover, Virginia. After receiving his Bachelors of Science in Biology from James Madison University, he graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts, where he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine. While in Boston for dental school, he also met his beautiful wife, Dr. Krysten Herrero DMD, who graduated alongside him at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Wong and his wife have 2 children, named Bennett and Ellis.
Dr. Wong has been trained to provide comprehensive care to his patients, and strives to educate his patients in oral hygiene and prevention of disease states of the oral cavity. He also believes that having his patients play an active role in their oral care and understanding every step along the way is important to achieving an optimum outcome. Dr. Wong has a passion for cosmetic dentistry, advanced crown and bridge, implant dentistry, full mouth reconstruction, dental research and dental technology. He offers various sedation options for patients who are anxious about their dental treatment, including IV sedation. He is a strong advocate of keeping up to date with current advancements and innovations in dentistry. He attends numerous continuing education courses both locally and nationall. Dr. Wong utilizes the latest advancements in digital dentistry and 3-D scanning to provide patients with new and current treatment options in the ever-evolving world of dentistry. He provides a wide variety of treatment options including whitening and bleaching, fillings, crowns, veneers, bridges, extractions, wisdom teeth extractions, root canals, implant placement and restorations, and many more. Dr. Wong’s strongest passions in dentistry are cosmetic and surgical dentistry.
Dr. Wong has earned his fellowship status in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He is also a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Virginia Dental Association, and the James River Study Club. Both Dr. Wong and his wife are passionate about using their skills and talents in dentistry to give back to the community and change the lives of those in need. With an entire tight-knit medical team, they travel to Mindo, Ecuador each year on a mission trip through a non-profit organization called “Mindo Futures.” They provide dental treatment to patients who do not have the means to access health care. Dr. Wong has completed training through the Dawson Academy for cosmetic dentistry through minimally invasive veneers and bonding, and also has extensive training in implant dentistry through both Zimvie and the Triangle Dental Institute. Dr. Wong also is an educator and lecturer for the dental implant company, Zimvie.
Outside of the office, you will find Dr. Wong at Heights Church on Sunday mornings serving with his family, and at home on Sunday afternoons watching the Washington Commanders. He also enjoys spending time with his family, personal fitness, snowboarding, NFL football, hiking and camping. He and his family enjoy exploring various restaurants across Richmond and spending time outdoors.
