To My Valued Patients,
On February 28, 2018, I suffered from a stroke and have been in recovery from the effects of that event for several months. I have recovered well and fortunately do not suffer from any lingering major effects. However, my right hand has permanent nerve damage affecting my fine motor skills which has prevented me from returning to the practice of dentistry. It has been a difficult decision to make, but I feel at this time the best course is to announce my retirement from dentistry effective December 31, 2018, while I continue to recover and heal from the stroke.
I have truly enjoyed the opportunity to serve as your dentist and will always appreciate your trust and confidence in me. I have always given my best effort to provide you quality treatment with the highest integrity. I will miss my regular association with not only my patients, but also my friends and colleagues.
I have enjoyed my association with Virginia Family Dentistry for the past 25 years. As a partner in the largest dental group in Virginia, I take pride in our culture of quality care, always with the patient’s welfare as our first priority. I leave behind an excellent team lead by Drs. Merissa Mulé, Andy Estill, Kate Doss, and Brandon Wong along with our orthodontist, Dr. Dale Rogers who I highly recommend to continue to take care of your family’s dental and orthodontic needs.
I wish all of you the best in the future. I will continue to work on my recovery with the hope I may one day again be able to practice dentistry. I am grateful for the opportunity I have had to serve you, and will truly miss my patients and friends. You have meant more to me than you know, and I thank you.
Warmest Regards,
James A. Mosey, DDS
