Dr. Sykes was born and raised in Wellesley, MA. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Washington & Lee University where he was also a 4 year member of the swim team. He realized his passion for dentistry after volunteering at a Remote Area Medical clinic in his junior year and pursued a career in the field at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry.
Dr. Sykes graduated near the top of his class while receiving scholarships and recognitions for his academic and clinic achievements. From the outset of his training, Dr. Sykes has always had a passion for providing care to underserved populations. He actively participated in community service events including Mission of Mercy, Lucy Corr and traveled to Jamaica for one week as a part of the Christian Dental Society. After graduation, Dr. Sykes practiced in an underserved area outside of Charlottesville as a member of the National Health Service Corps. Dr. Sykes is very detail-oriented and committed to helping his patients improve their oral health. He enjoys meeting new people and is dedicated to helping patients understand every step of their treatment process.
Dr. Sykes lives in Richmond with his wife, Kate. In his free time, he enjoys going on hikes and exploring new restaurants.
