During dental school, Dr. Adkins served as a Missions of Mercy Student Coordinator, helping organize and provide free dental care to underserved communities throughout Virginia. His leadership, service, and dedication to the profession were recognized with the ASDA Award of Excellence and the Brian D. Stone Memorial Award. He remains actively involved with Missions of Mercy and continues to volunteer his time through these clinics to improve access to dental care.

Following dental school, Dr. Adkins completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency at Appalachian Highlands Community Dental Center in Abingdon, Virginia, just a few miles from his hometown in SWVA. During his residency, he received advanced training in comprehensive dentistry, treating complex cases and expanding his clinical expertise across a wide range of procedures.

Dr. Adkins is passionate about helping patients feel comfortable and confident in the dental chair. He believes in providing compassionate, personalized care while taking the time to educate patients and help them make informed decisions about their oral health. Dedicated to lifelong learning, he continues to pursue advanced education to provide the highest quality care using the latest techniques and technology. Dr. Adkins is a member of the American Dental Association and the Virginia Dental Association.

During his free time, Dr. Adkins enjoys spending time with his friends and family, especially his fiancé and their dog. He finds joy in exploring new food and drinks around Richmond, hiking and taking walks, watching college football (Go Hokies!), traveling, and playing board games.
