Dr. Fucong ‘Tim’ Tian grew up in northern China. He received his dental degree from the School of Dentistry in Peking University in 2004. Thereafter he went through a combined program including endodontic specialty training and clinical research training for five years. He obtained his PhD degree and endodontic certificate in 2009. He served in the same school as an endodontist and faculty for nine years.
Dr. Tian moved to Augusta, GA in 2018 where he completed a two-year endodontic residency program. He served in the Dental College of Georgia for three and half years as an assistant professor and pre-doctoral director in endodontics. He supervised both dental students and residents in endodontic clinic. In his academic career, Dr. Tian published nearly fifty articles and have been cited more than 1000 times. He is a board-certified endodontist by the American Board of Endodontics.
Dr. Tian joined Virginia Family Dentistry in 2023.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Tian loves spending time with his family. He has two kids including his son and a younger daughter. His wife is a dedicated secondary math teacher. He enjoys traveling, hiking and loves reading about history.
