
Neil Turnage was born in Mississippi and lived in Texas and Japan before moving to Richmond as a teenager. He spent eight years as the Athletic Director and Soccer Coach at the Steward School before attending VCU/MCV. At graduation from dental school in 1997 Neil received numerous honors including awards in the areas of Implant Dentistry, Oral Surgery, and General Dentistry. Neil retired from practicing dentistry in 2023. He continues to do recruiting and training with VFD. He was Adjunct Faculty at VCU School of Dentistry from 1997-2019, is currently a Faculty Member at the Appalachian Highlands Community Dental Center AEGD in Abingdon, Virginia, and serves on the Deans Advisory Board at VCU School of Dentistry.
According to Neil, “Dental school was a wonderful experience for me. I have as much passion for dentistry today as I did the day I graduated and enjoy passing that passion along to my students.”
Also, Neil has served on the MCV Alumni Association Board of Directors and the Steward School Board of Trustees. He enjoys being with his family, sports, and endless house renovations.
