She is a graduate of Florida State University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a Minor in Chemistry. Dr. McCormack then moved to Richmond to attend dental school at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry. After earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, she stayed at VCU and entered the three year residency program in Periodontics. Upon successful completion, Dr. McCormack earned her Masters of Science degree. Additionally, during her period of studies at VCU she was recognized among all of her peers for both the Student Award for Achievement in Periodontology and first place for her clinical research.
Dr. McCormack is a board certified periodontist and has been voted one of Richmond’s top periodontists as published in Richmond Magazine and Virginia Living Magazine 2018. She is trained in the latest techniques to treat periodontal disease, placement of dental implants to replace some or all teeth, perform soft tissue and bone grafting procedures, and offers oral and IV sedation for her patients. She continues to further her education and skills through courses, conventions, and study clubs; allowing her to stay current on the latest advances in her chosen field and better serve her patients. Dr. McCormack has devoted time and volunteered her skills in under-served areas of Virginia through the VDA Missions of Mercy projects. These projects bring much needed dental care to underserved areas at no cost in order to improve the lives and health of individuals. She looks forward to continuing participation in these type of volunteer activities to help others and give back to the community.
When she is not in the office, Dr. McCormack enjoys playing flute/piccolo with the Richmond Concert Band, traveling, getting lost in a book, and cooking/baking. She lives in Midlothian with her fiancé and enjoys time spent with her family, friends, and two rescue labs Ranger and Riddick.
