Dr. Grizzard was born and raised in Petersburg, Virginia. He earned a bachelor’s degree in English composition and literature at James Madison University and worked as an English teacher with Prince George County Public Schools. He felt a strong calling to pursue a career in dentistry and earned a second bachelor’s degree in biology from Virginia Commonwealth University. After a year as a chair side dental assistant with Virginia Family Dentistry, he began his dental training at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry.
Dr. Grizzard graduated from dental school near the top of his class and received scholarships and awards for scholastic and clinical achievement. He was chosen as a senior teaching assistant and was among a small group of senior dental students selected for intensive training in endodontics during his final year. He rotated in clinics around the commonwealth and enjoyed treating patients with needs spanning the entire range of dental treatment.
He enjoys comprehensive dental practice and continually participates in study clubs and literature reviews to stay up-to-date with contemporary techniques and approaches. He is skilled in oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics of all sorts (to include implant restorations and digital dentistry), and, as a father of two, he is adept at treating pediatric patients.
Dr. Grizzard lives in Prince George with his wife and two children. He is an avid outdoorsman and college football fan.
