Dr. Eugena Waggoner was born and raised in Hopewell, Virginia where she attended West End Christian School. Dr. Waggoner went on to attend Virginia Commonwealth University where she earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. Dr. Waggoner continued her education at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry where she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, graduating with honors. During dental school, Dr. Waggoner developed a passion for helping people feel more confident in their smiles and empowering patients to have the knowledge that they need to care for their teeth. During her time at VCU’s School of Dentistry, Dr. Waggoner was awarded the Dentsply Merit Award in Removable Prosthodontics as well as the American Academy of Prosthodontics Award for her work during dental school.
Eugena is a member of the American Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Association, and the Richmond Dental Society. Dr. Waggoner actively pursues continuing education to ensure that she is providing the best care she can and takes pride in establishing long-term, trusting relationships with her patients. Since her time at school, she has become certified to administer sedation to her patients to make them feel as comfortable as possible while having dental work completed. Dr. Waggoner is also certified to administer BOTOX to help patients with pain from clenching, grinding, and migraines.
In her free time, Dr. Waggoner enjoys spending time with her family. She has two children, Dean and Charlotte. She enjoys going to the theater and entertaining. Eugena is an avid Formula 1 fan and enjoys keeping up with the Washington Nationals. On a rare free night, you’ll find Dr. Waggoner trying out new restaurants with her husband, Dylan. She also enjoys trying out new crafting hobbies.
